Manika and Mitchell wanted a winter wonderland for their engagement shoot and boy did mother nature deliver! We had a fresh snowfall only a day prior, and the trees were still coated in a dusting of snow. I met the couple in St. Johnsbury, Vermont and they took me to the very hiking trail where Mitchell proposed. The couple would visit this hiking trail frequently. On a warmer summer night, they brought paper lanterns to the trail and wrote down their goals to send off with them. Mitchell surprised Manika with one of those lanterns, asking her to be his wife. And she said yes! They cheerfully recapped this story and told me all about how they had met in college and their plans for their upcoming summer wedding. After the shoot, we headed down to North Conway and they treated me to some pizza at the famous Schilling Brewery.
What I love the most about engagement sessions is really getting to know the couple before their wedding. I get to hear all about their love story, how they met, how they proposed, what they are most excited about for their wedding, and so much more! They also get to learn a little bit about me, which makes everyone that much more comfortable. We get to practice poses and build a photographic relationship. Then when wedding day rolls around, my couples feel so much more relaxed in front of the camera.
