This Southern Vermont backyard wedding was one for the books! Molly and Simon were married at Simon's father's house, with a stunning Vermont view, even most wedding venues can't beat.

Because of Simon's military career, the couple was preparing to move across the world to Japan only days after their wedding! So this beautiful day acted as a special farewell to all their East Coast family and friends.
Molly's bridesmaids each brought a special pop of color to the day, by all wearing their own unique dresses.

Molly and Simon chose to do their first look and wedding party portraits in front of this classic red covered bridge. The beautiful backdrop fit the color scheme of their day perfectly, but also paid homage to their home state of Vermont.

The ceremony took place in the backyard of Simon's childhood home, blending together old memories of the past with promises of the future. In front of the rolling mountains of Vermont, the blooming trees mixed with the scattered dandelions throughout the yard. For a spring day, it had all the rich colors of fall, making this scene something out of a painting.

Their reception was full of cheerful excitement for the couples future. Every detail was tied together with warm colortones and opportunity to preserve the memories. Guests were encouraged to take polaroids of themselves, as well as decorate and sign their own section of a quilt. The quilt would then be sewn together as a physical memory of their wedding and cherished forever! In return every guest was given a package of flower seeds to plant as their own memory of the day.

Even their wedding cake tied together old memories and the new. It featured both the Vermont mountains of home and the mountains of Japan where they soon would be moving!

Molly and Simon's day was so special. It was full of love, bittersweet goodbyes, and the excitement of a new adventure.
